My sister-in-law has asked my 2 1/2 year old daughters to be her flower girls. Her ceremony is at 4 and the reception is at 7. She mentioned that she would like them to walk down the aisle at the wedding and then leave for the ceremony, and then come to the reception for a quick dinner and then leave after that. I think that my daughters will be upset and would like to attend for the entire time. I know they are young, but they are well behaved and if they made any noise during the ceremony, I would immediately remove them. What should I do? Is it appropriate for me to let them stay at the reception for as long as they stay happy? I guess I understand her ceremony wishes, but during the reception, the 200 guests are all close family and friends who would love to have the girls there dancing along!

Re: [GirlsMom] Flower Girls leaving early

Dear Girlsmom,
This is another reason why I suggest to brides not to include children if they do not want them invited.
It is inappropriate for her to include your daughters and expect them to leave for the wedding or reception. They have been invited to the entire event if they have been included. I have no idea how you could force the issue though.
