I have a 6 year old daughter from a previous relationship. I am getting married in 3 months. Instead of a flowergirl I wanted her to stand up as a bridesmaid. I have two others. I know she is a little young for a bridesmaid, but she has been through this relationship just as much as me, if that makes sence, and think flowerfirl isn't enough for her or me. Of course she won't fulfill any roles, but I wanted to know if this is okay. I have my 5 year old sister as the flowergirl. Just want to know what you think!

Dear SAP0623,
Yes your 6 year old is too young to be a bridesmaid and even too young for a Jr. bridesmaid who should be 8 to 12. A flower girl is very significant in that she ushers the way for the bride. I would consider having 2 flower girls instead of trying to put her in the bridesmaid role. Nancy Tucker President of Weddings Beautiful US http://www.weddingsbeautiful.com

I completely agree. It might seem as if it is a sweet thing to do. But, it may be the most frightening experience for her.
Plus, having two flowers girls is a great idea. Rebecca Black, Etiquette Now
