Bride's Mother

     No Flower Girl

My daughter's wedding is planned around a beautiful rose theme and she really, really wants to walk down the aisle on path of rose petals. However, we do not know of any young girl that would make an appropriate flower girl. Do we have any other options? Is it tacky to ask the Maid of Honor to throw out the petals as she walks down the aisle?

Dear Bride's Mother:

If the Bride-to-be wants the petals thrown right before she comes down the isle, task this out to someone else other than the MOH. The MOH at this point should only have to worry about walking down the isle and helping the Bride at the altar.

Usually, ushers roll out the aisle runner. In this case, I'd have the ushers unroll the runner and then a female hostess or usher would come right behind and sprinkle the rose petals around before the bride enters. If you choose this option, be sure the photographer knows whats going on so he/she won't get a photo of the ushers/hostesses working, unless this is a wanted shot.

If she (bride) doesn't mind the other members of the wedding party walking on the petals, you could do all of this before the processional begins.

I hope this helps you.

We have a large selection of fresh and freeze dried rose petals here.
