I have four young girls very close to me; the four and six year olds that I was a nanny for will be the flower girls. My niece and my best friend's daughter will both be 18 months at the time of the wedding and I can't see getting married without them both being a part of it as well. We don't have any young boys close to us, so we're not having a ring bearer. Is it ridiculous to have the two youngest be ring babies? We were thinking that my nine year old brother, who will be a jr. groomsman, could help in escorting them down the aisle, or could pull them in a wagon.
Having babies or very young children in the wedding party may seem like a cute idea now, but, it can be problematic. Kids are unpredictable, even when older. Imagine what might happen if the babies are in a wagon being pulled down the aisle and one tries to get out or one topples over the side. Plus, once they see the crowd many tend to scream bloody murder! It's a safety issue as well as an organizational issue. Personally, I wouldn't try this. If you still want to try this then please speak to the parents of the children about how they feel and what part you'll expect them to play.
