To invite or not to invite

I am getting married in 2 weeks. My sister is the matron of honor. Her 2 daughters are the flower girls. Her mother-in-law is upset because she was not invited to the wedding. She wanted to see the girls as flower girls. She doesn't know us though. Should we have invited her?

Dear Pbsmoh,

No, you are under no obligation to invite her. If you are recording this, perhaps the grandmother can see her grandchildren on the DVD.

No one should bully or whine their way onto a guest list.

Best wishes,
