ages for flower girl and bridesmaid

My question is relatively simple. Angelic At what age does a young lady become more suited to be a bridesmaid rather than flowergirl? I am trying to think of a way to include my neice in the wedding and have sort of a flower girlish theme to it without making her feel downgraded. At the time of my wedding, the youngest she might be is 11. My cousin's daughter is 16 and shes struggling with including somewhere along the lines of flowergirl too.

The typical age range for a flower girl is 4 - 8 years and a junior bridesmaid is usually between 8 - 14. If your girl is small and a a little less mature she could be considered for the flowergirl role. If she's big for her age and more mature looking and acting then I suggest she be selected as a junior bridesmaid. A 16 year old is best suited to be a bridesmaid.
