I was just wondering if it was okay to not have children be the ringbearer and flowergirl. Neither I nor my fiance have any family members or friends with children young enough to fit the role. But each of us has a friend who we think would have fun in the role of ringbearer or flowergirl, even though they're in college.
Would it be better to just do without than to have college kids as ringbearer and flowergirl?

This is a role for very small children. Your friends would look silly in this role and will likely be embarassed. You can just onlit the ring bearer and flowergirl. Top Wedding Questions Forum Moderator - "Write your sorrows in the sand, your blessings in stone".
