invite kids to be part of ceremony but not the reception
Is it right to exclude children that have been asked to be part of the wedding ceremony be not included at the reception? Two of the 6 children are the groom's niece and nephew ages 6 & 8. The reason that was given was that the reception place does not allow children. Are there really places that have this rule or could it be just some lame excuse that the bride had made up so she can invite more adults to take the kids' place? By the way, the reception will be at the Lodge in Monterey.

Dear Invite Kids,
No, it is not appropriate to exclude anyone that is in the bridal party from the reception. I suppose the best thing to do is to try to explain it to the children as it was explained to you so they do not get their feelings hurt.

We are also having our wedding at the Lodge in Pebble Beach, have your coordinator reserve you a room and hire babysitters. They can offer you referrals for babysitting services.
I didn't know they didn't allow children, we just wanted a adult only reception.
When is your wedding and what room are you using?
Kevin
