     Wording rehearsal dinner invitations

How can it be worded on a rehearsal dinner invitation that alcoholic drinks are not included; if you want bar privileges they are at the guest's expense?

Hello Stretch -

The reason you're probably finding it difficult to word this invitation is because it is not considered proper to ask your guest to pay for anything.

If you would like to have more control over the menu and the drinks consider hosting the dinner at a restaurant that does not have a liquor license or in a private home.

I completely agree. There is a very simple rule we follow: you invite, you pay. The guest should never have to open his wallet.
