Bacherlor Party? Is it happening or am I out of the loop?

Bacherlor Party? Is it happening or am I out of the loop?

I'm an out-of-town groomsman for a wedding about a month away. I've yet to hear anything from the Best Man (and brother) of the groom about a bacherlor's party. My understanding/experience is that modern custom dictates that the Bacherlor's Party is held 1-3 weekends before the wedding.

I understand that it's near impossible for me to attend with my out-of-town work situation, but I find it is a bit odd not to even politely ask me (so I respectfully can turn down the offer) to help plan or pay for the event. Is there even a party happening?

What should I do?

While I can't attend, I'm more than willing to contribute a couple hundred dollars to the cause. Though, since I haven't been approached by the Best Man should I not press the case? There are only 3 groomsmen and I fear I may be neglecting my duties.

Any thoughts?

Dear A good friend,

Don't worry. This is an optional event and maybe there will be none. But, if you want to ask, there is nothing wrong with it and is polite.

Best wishes,
