     Best Man bring wedding present?

My boyfriend is a Best Man at a wedding in a month. Between travel, tux, and the bachelor party he is already spending over $1,500. A friend of mine mentioned that people in the wedding party are not obligated to give wedding presents. I've never heard of this before and was wondering if this is acceptable or not.

Dear Kiki,

The attendants are expected to give a gift, but it is often a group gift. It definitely doesn't have to be expensive.

The bachelor party is optional though.

Best wishes,
