Choosing family member or friend to be best man.

I have a true best friend who I would really like as my best man, but my older brother will also be a groomsman. I was in his (my brother's) wedding, but was 13 at the time and too young to be his best man (he is 10 years older than I). However, I was told that the best man is always family first. I do not think my brother would mind NOT being best man, but I do not want to affend anyone. My best friend would be a much better choice too as his is more my age and would enjoy doing it. My Brother probably wouldn't and he knows less about my fiancee and I. What should I do?

Thanks

Dan

There is no rule about choosing family over friends when it comes to selecting your attendants. Select the person you;re closets with and who will do the best job.
