Father of Groom as Best Man

My son as asked his father to be his best man which is a wonderful thing. Who now escorts the mother of the groom? Our son is an only child. We are paying for the wedding so we are the hosts of the reception.

Dear Baseballmom,

It could be one of the other groomsmen who escorts you. If there are no others, he could escort you before he walks up to stand next to your son.

Best wishes,
