     Female Groomsmen?

My best friend, who is a guy, is getting married. We have been friends for 10 years, and he wants me in his wedding, but not sure how to put me in there. I'm not close enough to the bride for him to ask her to make me a bridesmaid. How can he put me in the wedding?

Thank you!

You do not have to be close to the bride to be a bridesmaid. If your friend, the groom, wants to have you in the bridal party he can ask his bride to include you as one of her bridesmaids or he can ask you to be an "honor attendant". An honor attendant is a special friend or family member who stands up for you, supports you and assists you on your wedding day.

Can you be more specific as to what an "honor attendant" is? I have two best girl friends I want to participate in my wedding, but can not have them actually walk in the court(We are only having small children). What duties can they perform so that they can feel special, as special as they really are to me?

Your girls could hand out the wedding programs, be in charge of the guest book signing, seating cards. You could engage them in making wedding favors, wrapping bubbles or whatever you will give out in the church as your "toss".
