We are having a casual fall wedding. My bridesmaids are wearing simple black dresses. We decided we want the groomsmen along with, Brian, the groom to wear jeans and a black suit jacket. I know when renting a tux you pick out the one you like and the groomsmens just get fitted and then pick it up. I just don't know how to go about getting there jeans and jacket attire together. First, should they all wear the same exact jeans or is it okay if they are just the same color? Should we and can we rent a suit jacket and white shirt to wear under? Or should we just have them buy a suit jacket? What do you think we should do and how can we get the groomsmen to go along with this untraditional attire?
It would be better for the men to wear slacks and sport jackets if you are this informal. Men really should have sport jackets in their wardrobe anyway. And, as long as the slacks and jackets are the same color and style, you should be fine.
If you must go with jeans, then it really doesn't matter about the type. They can all wear a different maker. But, to wear a suit jacket with jeans is a stretch. The sport jacket may be a better choice.
I don't know of anyone who rents suits and jackets. So, you would have to search your area.
