I am so frustrated. First my fiancee's sister wouldn't wear the blue dress for her to be a bridesmaid but instead she wanted to wear a black dress down the aisle. Now her husband who is an groomsman doesn't want to rent his tux from the same store that the rest of them are renting from. I've already told his sister she must wear the blue dress or step down from her bridesmaid duties now he has to tell his brother-in-law to step down. What can we do? Why can't people just follow what is being asked of them?

When agreeing to be a part of a bridal party, bridesmaids and groomsmen should both understand and accept that they will be expected to wear, and pay for, the clothes of the bride's and groom's choice. It's just the way it is. Hopefully, the bride and groom will take into consideration the body types and style preferences of their party members since they have to buy and wear these outfits.
I don't know why these people don't seem to get this but perhaps your groom could have a pow wow with his brother to find out what the problem is and to get him to comply. If the groom's mom is available, maybe she could intervene? Top Wedding Questions Forum Moderator - "Write your sorrows in the sand, your blessings in stone".

Thank you for your response. His Mom hasn't been too helpful with these issues. She's not the forceful type. For the bridesmaids I picked the colour and then let the ladies choose the dress that had this colour so that they could feel comfortable in the style of dress that they liked at a price they could afford. My fiancee picked the tux and accessories to match the bridesmaid. He told the guys all they had to do was go to the tux store and get measured and his brother-in-law wants to get it at a different store so that the colours won't match. I think he and his wife are going to be told buy the groom and myself either wear what is asked of you or just sit and be a spectator. I think if the roles were reversed they would feel very differently about their actions.
