Role in wedding for 9 year old nephew

My nephew is 9 years old. My fiancee feels he is too young to be an usher, and too old to be a ring bearer. I tend to agree. We think he could hand out the wedding pamplets at the front door. Is this ok, and is there anything else he could do, or were we wrong on him not being an usher/ring bearer? We already have 2 younger children from one of the bridesmaids who will probably be the ringbearer. The ushers are also other friends.

Thanks

Dan

Dear Dan,

He is in the age range of a junior usher unless he is very immature. He definitely could simply hand out programs too.

Best wishes,
