My brother has 6 groomsmen in his wedding and 2 ushers/readers. His groomsmen are all close friends and the 2 ushers/readers are more like "family friends." He wants to give gifts to all of them, but was wondering if it is acceptable to give the groomsmen something different than the ushers/readers. The gifts would still be about the same value, but he wants the groomsmen to feel a little special, but is worried that the ushers/readers will feel inferior. Thoughts?

Gifts are optional and giving them should be personalized. Gift giving has really gotten out of hand. No one should be comparing gifts and/or value and should happily receive any gift. After all, they agreed to be a member of your bridal party, I'll assume, because they care for you, not in anticipation of getting a gift, right?
