My fiance' has not been able to decide on a Best Man. He narrowed down his selection to 6 Groomsmen, but can't pick just one to stand up for him. I read somewhere that the tradition started with just "Best Men." I mentioned this to my fiance' and he's decided that's what he wants. Six "Best Men." Is this wierd? Is it ever done? Also, to make things even more unusual, I'm having two Maids of Honor. Will our guests think we're nuts?

Dear Nuts?
Perhaps. Just kidding.
We have just answered this question a number of times in the last few days. You may want to read those posts. Until then, think of how this will work. If all of the men were 'best', it would be the same as if there were none. So, perhaps he doesn't want one or they could all be 'best men'. It really is the same either way.
Logically think through how this will play out during the ceremony though. And, please read the other posts.

Okay, I have read the other posts and I guess what you're trying to tell me is that he could name them all groomsmen??? And we're not totally out off the wall for doing it this way. As for logistics..We've already determined the order these men will stand in because my maid of honor's husband is also a "best man", so he'll stand next to the groom and probably hold the rings. I guess I just wanted to be sure that aside from the rings and the speech, we wouldn't be facing any other hurdles on our wedding by having 6 best men. Thanks for your help!

It is just different, so there are no rules about it. When we come across something like this, we try to think of why it could be a problem and if it is logical. For now, I just can't see a problem with it. Whether or not it is logical???
It just seems as if there really is no reason that one man needs to stand above the rest. This seems logical to me. Rebecca Black, Etiquette Now
