husband is paired up with ex-girlfriend in wedding party.

I'm looking for some third party advice here to tell me if I am being silly or not. My husband's best friend, and a good friend of mine, is getting married. I am not in the wedding party but the bride has chosen my husbands ex-girlfriend to be in the wedding party. They have 5 groomsmen and 4 bridesmaids and for some reason they choose to pair up my husband with his ex-girlfriend. I find this extremely disrespectful to me. I'd like to know if i am being overly jealous. I am not as angry at the fact that she is in the party, just that they do not have enough respect towards me to at least pair her up with someone else. I mean, there is an extra guy in the party!

Dear Chrystal:

Have you spoken to your husband about your feelings? Perhaps, if he know how you felt, he could go to his friend and explain how uncomfortable his being paired up with his ex-girlfriend would be for the two of you.

It does strike me odd that they wouldn't have considered your feelings but sometimes brides get caught up in the wedding planning frenzy and don't examine the details of their plans.

Let us know what happens.

Thank you fo ryour advice. Yes, I have spoken with my husband. He thinks it is odd too but does not want to cause an argument as it is his best friend. He is going to let them know that he would prefer to be paired up with someone else-if they bring it up to us again.

I will let you know the outcome Smile

Thanks again

Chrystal

I think your husband's friend shouldn't be put off by this request and actually, the groom may feel embarassed that they even did this to his friend. Have your husband go to his friend and explain how unconortable this will be and ask if the groom can please change his partner.
