My boss is throwing me a bridal shower for all my co-workers. Is it okay to not invite my stepmother? Or does etiquette state that the mother has to be invited?

Sounds like you work at a fun place! I wouldn't worry about the family if this is a work shower, let your boss who is hosting it take care of the invitations. Besides, if you are having another shower from the MOH that includes family, your stepmother will already be included and you can avoid all the etiquitte "faux pas" that come with inviting guests to multiple showers.

Dear Bridal Shower,

Don't worry about your step-mother. Work showers are specifically for those with whom you work.

Enjoy!
