Bridal shower for a private wedding

I have no idea how this works, but my fiance and I ourhaving a destination wedding on the beach with a private ceremony with just the two of us. When we get back our parents are hosting a lavish wedding reception with a huge guest list. My best friend wants to throw me a bridal shower before we leave for our wedding. Is it proper to invite everyone that was invited to the wedding reception?

No, sorry Patti, but you'd only invite guests to a bridal shower who also have been invited to the wedding (not the wedding reception).
