     Bride is a control freak!

I have a friend, who is a bridesmaid in a wedding, and she is complaining that the bride, who is (really sweet) is not only planing, and paying for her entire wedding, reception and bridal shower. She also seems obsessed with every detail of the wedding and the shower. Knowing that she does not have help from any family, we've tried to consider this fact. But she has no etiquette, ex. she planned her shower, sent the invites herself, then called everyone on the list 2 or 3 times to force them to commit to attending the shower, so she could plan for food. First of all the bride does not do anything for her own shower right? Secondly, this is rude and probably made people very uncomfortable. Everyone she called is talking about this and how rude it was.How do we tell her that the things she is doing, makes her look ignorant? Of course without hurting her.

What a shame. Perhaps this woman could use a gift of an etiquette book? If she doesn't read it you could always hit her over the head with it to knock some sense into her. Wink

Seriousy though, gently letting her know that her guests are talking may be in order.

I hope that everyone who comes to the site who balks at proper etiquette can see that people do care.

I couldn't agree more and couldn't have said it better.

Good luck with your control freak!
