     Co-workers & Wedding Shower Etiquette

I am getting married this fall. I have been with my current employer for nearly two years. My fiance and I have decided on a small wedding, and will not be inviting employees from our work to attend our wedding. Recently, a co-worker of mine indicated that she is planning on having a shower for me. I feel somewhat uncomfortable with this since they will not be attending my wedding. Is this proper bridal shower etiquette to have a co-worker host a shower in the workplace if they are not invited to your wedding?

Dear weddingstress:

The workplace is the one exception to this wedding shower etiquette rule. It is considered appropriate for a co-worker to host a wedding shower at your place of business even if the guests invited to this bridal shower are not invited to the wedding.

I hope our forum turns your name from weddingstress to wedding relaxed very soon! Wink Enjoy the wedding planning.
