Gift for out of state shower for bride I've never met?

I received an invitation to a bridal shower being held in another state for someone I've never met before. The invitation was even addressed to me with my last name spelled incorrectly! The bride-to-be is marrying my cousin who I've only seen once in over 13 years. Do I need to send a gift?

No, and you shouldn't have been invited but it seems like people think that every lady off the wedding reception guest list should be invited. This just isn't so. However, if you attend the wedding you should send a gift.
