I have a new friend (I've known her about 1 year) getting married in May. I have been invited to a an out-of-state shower being hosted by the groom's family, to which the bride had told us early on that she understands that many of us will not be able to attend.
I have also been invited to a lingerie party being hosted by the bride's sister (a very good friend of mine and ultimately how I know the bride) that is in my hometown. I will be attending the lingerie party and plan on buying a gift as well as contributing to the cost of the "bachelorette" events later that evening. Do I need to buy a gift for the out of state shower I'm not attending in addition to the lingerie shower?
This all would be in addition to a wedding gift that I wil be sending.

Dear What to Do,
Only give a gift for the shower you are attending.
