How do bridesmaids tell bride to cut the shower guest list?
The bride has given us a list of over 80 people to invite to her shower. How do we explain that you don't invite that many people to a shower let alone expect your bridesmaids to pay for it?

Dear Stressed,
The shower is an optional party that you would have to agree to host. Once you do, you set the rules. You decide how many will be invited and how much you will spend. Plus, etiquette is on your side. This should be a small, intimate party. If not, it appears to be a greed fest, as this should never appear to be a reception.
You could ask her to read our many posts concerning proper shower etiquette or any etiquette book.
