Inviting Guests to Multiple Bridal Showers

Three of my friends have been generous enough to throw bridal showers for me. I have had one already and several people did not show up, for various reasons (unknown to me). I would really like for some of those people to attend another shower, but I do not know if it would be right for me to invite them to another shower. Is this ok or should I just wait to see them at the wedding?

Dear Ballet,

There shouldn't be more than two showers hosted for you, besides the work shower.

It is impolite to invite anyone to more than one shower, except for mothers and attendants. It would be like saying to them, "Gee, I missed your gift in the first round, but you have another chance." Plus, you wouldn't invite. If asked, you can give a guest list to the host with no more than the number of guests she offers to host.

Best wishes,
