Is the actual shower enough of a gift?

Hello

I am a bridesmaid, and we are having the shower next month. The party is mostly thrown by the bridesmaids, but the MOB is chipping in. I read in your other postings that this is not the proper way, but we didnt know that as the MOB has typically hosted every shower where I've been a bridesmaid. Blush

my question is, since the bridesmaids are hosting the shower, do we also have to get a bridal shower gift, or is the shower our gift?

Thank you for the attention!

You are expected to give a gift. The gift doesn't have to be expensive and can be a group gift. Remember that the shower is not a reception. It should be a small group of those closest to the bride and groom and can be very informal and inexpensive.
