Is there a way to a group gift for bride w/o requesting money?
Hi! My best friend is FINALLY getting married. She's 35 years old and will be close to 36 by the time they get married. It's a first wedding for both, but they have EVERYTHING - including she bought the house they will be living in a few years ago.
We could do individiual gifts, but there is ONE thing I know she would LOVE to have, but none of us individually could afford to get it. Also, it would be best if it's antique. It would fit her personality and a better budget.
So, first is it appropriate to buy an antique item for a bridal shower gift and second how do you do a group present (and not have individual presents) without asking for money?

Dear Mams99,
No, it is not appropriate to ask for money at a shower or a wedding. What you may be able to do is enlist the financial cooperation of the couples parents and attendants for this item. Nancy Tucker President of Weddings Beautiful US http://www.weddingsbeautiful.com

I completely agree. This could be the group gift from all of you. The shower guests should be able to choose for themselves what they wish to give.
