Should mother of the bride pay for the shower

Matron of honor says I (mother of the bride) should pay for the shower and she should plan it. But she wants to plan it for the area where she lives instead of an area 1/2 way from all guests.

Dear Teresak,

We have many posts concerning bridal shower etiquette. It may be a very good idea for the MOH to read them.

Mothers shouldn't be involved in the planning or hosting of this optional party.

Best wishes,
