Hi....I am hosting a bridal shower for my best friend. I am the Maid of honor in the wedding but she also has a matron of honor. The bride lives in a different location from where I am and the actual wedding is in yet another location. Neither are where I am from. She is having several showers at different locations. The shower I am having is for her family down here and is very small. I got the addresses of the family from her mother and proceded to ask the bride if there was anyone else she wanted to invite and she told me no. Is it tacky to not invite the future mother-in-law of the bride? She lives away and will probally be invited to some of the other festivities. The bride did not mention inviting her. I was just wondering if it was in bad taste....

One more thing i forgot to mention....the bridal party is not invited either because they live so far away and are having a shower where the bride lives. It is just the family of the bride invited....

Dear Overwealmed,
Don't worry. It is in bad taste to invite guests to more than one shower--except for the bridesmaids. So, mom in law is invited to another. No problem.
