Multiple Showers - Bridemaids Attendance Required??

Are the bridesmaids obligated to attend all showers thrown for the bride?

The bride requested her aunt and cousin (also a bridesmaid) to plan their luncheon-shower the very next day at 11am after an evening themed couples shower that another bridesmaid & myself (Maid of Honor) are throwing for about 40 people. This is going to be a busy event with a BBQ, live music, etc and will require clean up afterwards and probably the next morning.

We told the bride during the planning stages that this would be ever inconvenient having the showers back to back, but decided to have both showers in one weekend to accommodate a bridesmaid (host of the luncheon) who must fly in for the events.

Are we required to attend the next day shower luncheon as part of the wedding party?

First of all the bride should not be involved in the planning of any showers so she should not be requesting when and where to hold the shower.

You are not required to attend more than one shower.
