     Okay to have a shower?

A friend of mine has a daughter who got married by the JP, but is having a reception in March. Is it proper etiquette to have a bridal shower for her even though she is already married?

Dear Is it Okay,

I originally stated that a bridal shower is considered a pre-wedding party, which it usually is. However, it is also considered appropriate when circumstances prevent a pre-wedding shower. Sorry for any confusion I may have caused anyone.

Best wishes,
