     Post Bridal Shower

Help! I just attended a wedding of a dear young couple. The wedding was planned rather quickly due to the fact the the groom was home on military leave for just 30 days. There wasn't enough time to have a shower before hand so my question is: would it be ok to have a shower for the new bride in a couple of weeks after the groom is deployed again?

Thanks for your help in advance.

Dear Post,

Typically, I would say that it is not proper. In fact, some may have very traditional ideas and may disagree with my logic here. However, this is a 'non' typical situation that many of our young service people are facing these days. The purpose of a shower is to 'shower' the young bride with items that will help her and her new husband set up their new home. I see no problem with hosting this after her wedding in this situation. If you are a family member, it would be best for someone else to host it though.

Thank you for your consideration and kindness. It is refreshing.

Sincerely,
