     Post Wedding Shower?

OK- here's a tough one:
Our dear friend was recently married in Italy and what with the high cost of travel to Europe, almost none of her friends was able to go, only a handful of family, etc. There are no plans for a reception here in the US either.
Anyway, we'd like to throw her a post-wedding shower, but we know that's inappropriate, so what can we call it instead? How should we word the invite? Please help. This is something we really want to do, since we all love her & want the chance to celebrate her getting married in a special way. (We want it to be a "ladies only" event.)
Thanks

Dear Jfall,

No matter what you call it, if it appears to be a shower, it is one. So, it can't be a party in which there are gifts or games. You could simply invite ladies to a gathering to welcome your friend back from Italy. She could bring her pictures and you can ohh and ahh about them.

Best wishes,
