What is appropriate for the bride to wear??

Hello,

I am a bride to be married this year and my first shower is coming up. I am not sure what to wear. Should I dress up? Is wearing white appropriate? Is this something I should get my hair and makeup done for?

thanks a lot,

ES

Dear ES,

This should be a small, intimate affair. It shouldn't be something that you would have to 'dress up' for. So, just dress as you would for a dinner to a friend's home.

You mentioned it will be your first shower. Hopefully there will be no more than two and family is not hosting unless that person is also an attendant.

Best wishes,

Thank you for your response. Would it be tacky to wear white (for example a tea length white eyelet lace dress)?

Thanks again,

ES

ps- I am having three showers only because my parents are divorced and his live far away. Seeing as it was the only option, is it tacky?

These should be very small though.

Yes, white is fine.
