The bride and groom are being married in Las Vegas with only the parents of the bride and groom present. A small reception a few weeks later is planned in their hometown for immediate family and friends. Due to financial issues, limited space is available. Is it proper to invite people to the bridal shower who will not be invited to the reception?

Re: [kellyn] Who To Invite to the bridal shower?

Dear Kellyn:
No, it is not proper to invite guests to a bridal shower if they have not been invited to the wedding. By wedding, I mean wedding ceremony and not reception, so only those who go to the service in Las Vegas would be invited to a shower. In this case, since only the bride's parent's will be present at the wedding, no bridal shower should be hosted at all. Sorry.
