I am the groom... There are two showers being given for my fiance. One is being given by her mom's friends, and one is being given by my mom's friends....
The mother of the bride (MOB) insists that it is her (MOB's) obligation to purchase the hostess gifts for the shower since the MOB's friends are throwing it.
I completely disagree. I think it is our (bride and groom's) duty to purchase gifts to thank the hostesses.
My mother (MOG), just like me, also believes it is the responsibility of the groom and bride to purchase hostess gifts, regardless of who is throwing the shower.
I looked this up on 15 different websites and each website says it's the bride's responsibility.
Who's duty is it to purchase hostess gifts???

Dear Groom,
You have very good manners. Yes, it is the responsibility of you two to give the gifts.
