I'm the bride. I've been told by some that every lady that is invited to the wedding is invited to the shower. I've also been told that it should be only my (our) close friends/family and the FH's family. I've been asked by my maid of honor (my only attendant) to provide a list to her. I really need to know who to include.

The shower is supposed to be a small group of ladies closest to you and your fiance and not every woman on the wedding guest list. Imagine inviting your boss and his wife to the wedding and then having to invite the boss's wife to the shower. That would be uncomfortable for her, and you, and since the shower is all about gifts she may feel like she's being invited just to get another gift.
