wedding being postponed..do we postpone the shower??
Hi!! I am the soon to be (or should I say not-so-soon) to be sister in law. I was just informed that the wedding date is going to be postponed 6 months to a year. We have the bridal shower scheduled for THIS SATURDAY! Should we cancel and reschedule the shower also??
Thank You SO much for any advice!!!

Dear Postponed,
Yes, unfortunately it would be best. At this time, it would appear as if the couple is unsure about the exact date of their wedding. A big portion of the shower is to share the joy of wedding planning with the guests. This is impossible at this time.

I am in a similar situation where the shower is planned for next weekend and now we were told the wedding is being postponed. How do I cancel/postpone the shower? I do not personally know half of the people invited so phone calls won't work, plus I know they will ask questions and it's not for me to say anything about the situation. Should I send a note to all the people invited? How do I word it? How do I sign it?

Dear Sis,
You would inform them the same way you invited them. Just state that the bridal shower has been cancelled. There is no reason to explain any further. If these people were important enough to invite, they should be close enough to the bride to know the reason soon enough.
