     Bachelorette Party Etiquette

I'm a bridesmaid in my friend's wedding. The maid of honor and I had the great idea of a wine tasting bachelorette party (and the bride lives near some good wine country). We want to rent a limo for the day and get a bunch of girls to just kick back and have some fun. We're currently pricing limos now and it looks like around $700 for the day. Is it improper to ask the other girls (minus our bride, of course) to pitch in for the cost?

Dear Bachelorette Party,

I can't believe it! I was just in Napa and came across a number of women celebrating in the same manner. Two of the parties were also participating in a scavenger hunt. The bride had to find certain people or items and take a picture of her finding them. One item was finding a man with her fiance's name. It sounds like a lot of fun.

And no, it is not improper to ask the women to "pitch in" to help cover the cost. Usually, we do not ask the guests to pay for their own party, but for a bachelorette party, it's all about the bride.

Enjoy your event!
