     Bridal Shower Invite Wording

I am the maid of honor for my best friend who's getting married in Playa Del Carmen. She really has her heart set out clothes for the wedding/honeymoon...all in Playa Del Carmen. I would really like to have a shower that gets her clothes from a few of her favorite stores (I figure I can tell the ladies when they call to RSVP what some of her favorites are), as well as something else. I thought of maybe doing a "Naughty and Nice" shower, and making the nice gift something she can wear in mexico & the naughty gift for the honeymoon. Does anyone have any ideas of how to word this invite?

Dear Diana,

You want to ask guests to a bridal shower to purchase a wardrobe for the bride? Plus, they should give her another gift on top of that one?? And, then of course they would have to give her a wedding gift.

She is having a destination wedding. So all of these guests to her shower would have to be guest to her wedding. A destination wedding is very expensive for the guests. All of these gifts that you want the guests to purchase are a bit much. I'm not sure how you could politely ask people to pay out this much.

I know that you want to do the best for your friend. But, we should always think of others and how our behavior affects them. This request would put your guests in a difficult situation.

Best wishes,
