I am planning a Bridal Shower for my sister (I am her maid of Honor). I have already made most of the plans. A restaurant is booked, invitations have gone out and I have made a list of games that we can play. I am very crafty and have ideas of things I can make for favors and game prizes, but I am not sure about the theme. I wanted everything to have one main theme, but I want it to be somewhat original. My sister and her fiance met online. She lived in NY and he lived in Seattle. She moved there after getting to know him online and from a few visits with him. My mother and I came up with having a theme of the internet or instant messaging, but as I looked further into it I realized it was too abstract of a theme and very hard to put together. My mother suggested maybe an east coast vs. west coast theme. This could work, but I am now wondering if a theme is even necessary. Maybe everything could just be about love. with hearts and other love icons/symbols.
So, I guess my question is...how necessary is a theme in the bridal shower?
A theme isn't really necessary. You have all of the basics covered and it sounds like you have a fun party planned. Top Wedding Questions Forum Moderator - "Write your sorrows in the sand, your blessings in stone".
