I live a few hours away from the MOH. I am a bride's maid. However I live 2 hours away and was unable to attened their luncheon to discuss the bridal shower. I then started a new job, and could not attend the shower.
I did send gifts in my absence.
Now I get a surprise bill for 1/3rd of the cost to help pay for the expenses. (there are 3 bride's maids)
Is this fair? I had no say so in how much was to be spent and no one called me with the plan and budget.
Thanks for any help!
My guess is that I have to just send the $ and smile anyway.
It's a large bill I didn't expect.

No. But, they may not realize it. All should be in agreement of how much will be spent and how the party will be hosted. You didn't need to send more than one gift and could have shared the expense of a group gift.
