Jack and Jill shower for a couple who is from germany

Planning a Jack and Jill shower for a couple who is from germany, They cant take anything with them so we need some games and things to give as gifts. One of our suggestions is giving them american express travelers checks or gift cards. PLEASE give us some help.

Dear Hosting a Shower,

A bridal shower is an optional prewedding party that sometimes is best not to host. If asking for money is the only option, perhaps this is one of those times. It must be hosted carefully because it is a gift giving event celebrating a gift giving event.

It isn't fair to guests to be invited to a party for someone and asked to bring cash. This is what you are asking them to do. Besides, the most asked question about wedding gift giving, for me anyway, is how much money is appropriate to give. The answer is that there is no perfect amount. Some will consider the amount generous, while others consider it to be lacking. It is very awkward.

Their gifts can be shipped to their home in Germany. It is best to allow your guests to choose for themselves what they wish to give.

The couple can register, along with other gifts, for gift cards. Plus, even though it is considered appropriate these days to mention the gift registry on the bridal shower invitations, it isn't appropriate to mention anything else about the gifts, such as gift cards and cash only. But, you may tell guests about the problems of shipping if they ask.

As hosts, we must always consider our guests when planning.

Best wishes,
