     bridal shower etiquette

I am the matron of honor for my sister's wedding and I have offered to host her bridal shower. The rest of the wedding party is claiming to be poor and I can assure you none of them are any more poor than me. Yesterday, my sister, the bride, said that she wants a really nice shower in a restaurant so if she has to she'll pitch in money. I was really hurt by this, as well as the fact that the bridal party is unwilling to help monetarily. Am I reading too much into my sister's statement? Should the rest of the bridal party be helping? What is the appropriate bridal shower etiquette?
