     Accommodation for MOH

My fiance & I decided not to have attendants during the ceremony after his best man broke the news he cannot attend our wedding in Italy. I've told my MOH this & she is ok with it. She is traveling & rooming with her parents who may want to stay in hotels that are higher end and costs more than what we have budgeted. Am I still required to pay for her their entire accommodations (2 nights) or just her share? How would I go about paying for her share if her parents are main ones paying for their hotel stay?

Thank you in advance for your help.

Dear Kris,

It really depends on if this is last minute and if she has spent money and time on your wedding. If she has, she has an "investment" in your wedding and would have more of a reason to want to see it through. If not, it is her decision to attend and then it isn't your responsibility to pay for her lodging.

If you are obligated, I suppose you could pay her what you would have spent on the room for just her. It is difficult to figure that one out, but that seems fair.

Best wishes,
