Asking destination wedding guests to share accommodations
There are a limited amount of cottages to rent at our destination wedding location. My fiance and I trying to plan accordingly, and we know that quite a few of our guests are in financial binds due to the down economy. We were planning on having most of our guests (including the attendants) share the accommodations to make the costs cheaper for them. Is this wrong to assume? We have about 20 guests and 5 cottages. I'm just trying to plan this right.
Thank you!

You are financially responsible for your attendant's lodging, but not your guests. It is acceptable for you to expect your attendants to share a room. But, if they have significant others, they would have to be included since this is a destination wedding.
You could suggest to your guests that they share, but can't expect it.
Please remember that if your guests decide that they cannot stay at the resort you choose, you are responsible for any "day fee" to attend your wedding. Guests shouldn't have to pay admission to attend a wedding.
