We are planning a wedding September 2009 on board the ship before going on the cruise. I have been in contact with the immediate family that will be there (and that we will pay for). however, if other family members want to go we want them to. In order for them to get part of our group rate, reservations need to be made in the next 60 days. Do I send out a "Save the Date" card or the actual formal invitation at this point? Thank you!!

Re: Cruise Wedding: send save the date or invitation?

Dear Rachbs,
Send your save the dates including information about the cruise and contact information for your travel agent. You could include a note stating that if they wish to join you they would need to contact her/him by such and such date. We don't normally do this, but as long as this doesn't appear to be a traditional invitation and you are not asking for RSVPs, then you are fine.
